26 Years of Craftsmanship: The People and Values Behind Canadian Timberframes

This year, Canadian Timberframes marks 26 years in business - more than just a milestone, it’s a reflection of the people, partnerships, and values that have defined our journey. From our roots in Golden, British Columbia, to projects spanning North America and beyond, we have remained dedicated to quality, integrity, and the relationships that make our work possible.

Built on a Passion for Timber

Founded in March of 1999, Canadian Timberframes started with a simple but strong vision: to craft exceptional timber structures using the best materials and time-honored techniques. Based in the Columbia Valley, our facility was established to take full advantage of Interior Douglas Fir, with the goal of offering high-quality timber components that elevate residential spaces.

Over the years, that foundation has remained, but our capabilities have grown to meet the evolving needs of builders, commercial developers, architects, and homeowners. We’ve expanded our manufacturing facility to handle more complex projects, integrated advanced CNC technology for greater precision, and enhanced our finishing processes to align with the demands of both custom residential and large-scale commercial developments. What began as a focus on timber components has transformed into providing integrated enclosure systems, mass timber and heavy timber solutions.

The People Who Make It Possible

Behind every project is a team of skilled professionals—designers, craftsmen, sales members and industry partners who bring years of expertise and dedication to their work. Many of our team members have been with us for over a decade, and their knowledge and passion are at the heart of everything we do.

Canadian Timberframes is also defined by its partnerships. We have worked alongside some of the finest builders, architects, and homeowners in North America, helping them realize their vision for custom timber structures. These collaborations are built on trust, shared expertise, and a mutual appreciation for quality craftsmanship.

As Vice President Stephanie Bowes puts it:

"Our success is built on strong partnerships, a commitment to quality, and professional service. We approach each project as a collaborative endeavor with our industry partners, striving to exceed expectations and achieve exceptional results."

A Commitment to Quality and Integrity

We have always prioritized quality, which is why we continue to invest back into our business. Advancing our technology, expanding our facility, and our pursuit of top talent within our team are decisions that allow us to meet the increasing demands of timber construction. As the industry evolves, these investments back into our business ensure we remain a reliable partner, equipped to handle complex projects while maintaining the standards that have defined our work for 26 years.

While we have grown and evolved over the years, our core values have remained the same:

Craftsmanship

Every timber we cut reflects the skill and care that goes into our work.

Honesty

We take pride in being a trusted partner, delivering on our commitments with transparency and professionalism.

Collaboration

We see every project as a partnership, working closely with our clients and industry peers to bring their vision to life.

Sustainability

Our location in the Columbia Valley gives us access to some of the best Douglas Fir in the world, and we take our responsibility to the environment seriously, ensuring that our materials are sourced from sustainable and ethically managed forest stands.

Adapting to Industry Trends

The timber market continues to evolve, and so do we. In order to stay ahead of emerging trends, we have expanded our offerings beyond traditional timber components to include mass timber, steel integration, and complete enclosure systems - providing clients with flexible solutions that align with their building needs.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on 26 years in business, we remain grateful - for the relationships we’ve built, the lessons we’ve learned, and the projects we’ve had the privilege to be a part of. We continue to evolve, adapting to new challenges and opportunities, but always staying true to the values that have brought us here.

To our team, our partners, and everyone who has been part of this journey - thank you. Here’s to the next chapter.
