GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY


As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for building key customer relationships with new and existing clients and converting market opportunities into Heavy Timber and Mass Timber projects. The Sales Manager will work with staff from various departments within the organization to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue.


The primary accountability of this position is to oversee, support, and manage the personnel, equipment, and throughput of all Sales activities to support continued market growth, grow B2B partnerships, and increase repeat business with key industry partners. This role supports all production and design operations by maintaining adequate contract backlogs to support smooth day-to-day operations, reduce overall company risk, and increase profitability.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES


1. Identify Heavy Timber and Mass Timber project opportunities through diverse sales channels.
2. Pursue project opportunities in close collaboration with estimating and project delivery teams to ensure project
offerings are suitable for CTF’s order file and competitive in the marketplace.
3. Convert project opportunities into confirmed projects aligned the organization’s revenue and profitability targets.
4. Assist with the development and evolution of the organization’s sales strategy, reflective of relevant market
dynamics, enterprise needs, etc.
5. Model and champion corporate values and mission to CTF’s customer base and industry at large
6. Work closely with other department within CTF to develop and refine sales strategy and assure congruence with
operational needs.
7. Interface with Senior Leadership Team to refine sales priorities and targets based on organizational strategy and
initiatives.
8. Assist in developing an annual budget for markets and product lines aligned with the organization’s overall objectives.
9. Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies as necessary.
10. Focused building key customer relationships with new and strengthen existing industry relationships.
11. Take a leadership role in the negotiation of Commitments, ranging from Purchase Orders to Subcontracts and Master
Agreements
12. Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s sales management system.
13. Represent the company at industry events, business forums and other related events.
14. Ensure pricing data is accurate and up to date to reflect changing market conditions and CTF economies.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institute and/or equivalent work experience

5+ years of direct sales experience.

3+ years of management experience in sales or business development.

Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.

Experience with developing sales strategy, product development plans, and KPI’s. 

Timber frame or Mass Timber experience is considered an asset.

Experience in a related technical field (construction, engineering, architecture, manufacturing) is considered an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written
