Governors Island New Hampshire

Located in Gilford, New Hampshire lies the largest Lake in the state, Lake Winnipesaukee. Here you can find the beautiful Governors Island, one of six bridged islands on the lake and the home of this gorgeous waterfront residence. The owners wanted to create to a space to entertain, accommodate and make lasting memories with friends and family while enjoying the stunning shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Initially the property consisted of the original 6,500 sf home (seen without green membrane). With the great work of Jason Drouin Custom Homes this 16,000 sf addition creates an amazing 22,500 sf space. We provided our infamous slow-growth Interior Douglas Fir structural frame trusses, tongue and groove ceiling as well as structural timbers for the over sized Port Cochere entryway.

Before Canadian Timberframes was brought into this project they had difficulty locating a supplier to manufacture the large structural timbers required for this design. We were able to design, manufacture and deliver the timbers in just 6 weeks. Canadian Timberframes leads the industry in material turn over due to our large on-site inventory, in-house production and our years of experience dealing with builders and architects across North America with timber frame homes.
